The Northeastern Registration Agri Commodity E-connect (NE-RACE) Nagaland organised a farmers’ registration, market linkage seminar and food processing initiative at Murise village, Dimapur in collaboration with Nutrigo Natura Agrotech Pvt. Ltd., a Guwahati based export-oriented company.
S Aning, an official from NE-RACE Guwahati headquarters highlighted the NE-RACE project and mentioned that it has been launched across the northeast and it is a platform to connect buyers and sellers both nationally and internationally. It is a digital initiative of the Ministry of DONER, of which NEDFi is the implementing agency.
NE-RACE has created a user-friendly digital platform for both buyers and sellers. Through this, the enlisted farmers and buyers will be able to sell their farm products without any charges.
Director of Nutrigo Natura Agrotech Pvt. Ltd. Dhritiman Deka encouraged the farmers to focus on food processing and value addition of farm produce which gives them a better opportunity to increase their earning. He also highlighted the importance of good packaging which can increase the shelf life and quality of products. He encouraged all the farmers to start with simple home-based food processing products for which complete training and hand-holding will be provided by the company.
The objective of the program was also engage the women and youth of the villages so that they can earn their livelihood in the village itself.
He shared a vision to make Murise village as a model food processing cluster providing livelihood to improve the economic condition of the area.
Currently, Murise village has a solar based dehydration facility having capacity of processing 4 Metric tons of fresh produce, set up by the company, and will be expanded further.
Nutrigo Natura is also working along with Nagaland State Marketing Board to process and sell various products.

NE-RACE Nagaland state coordinator Ariba Anar in his closing remarks stated that Nagaland has successfully sold a substantial amount of products with the help of NE-RACE platform. He said NE-RACE will continue to connect more farmers and buyers so that the output of farmers can increase over time.
With companies and the government of Nagaland coming forward assisting in the whole process, Anar expressed hope that the farming community in Nagaland now has a new vision and hope.
