In view of the deteriorating road condition at the old KMC dumping site and the continuous landslides near the old toll tax gate (Welcome to Kohima Gate), Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, B Henok Buchem, has stated that only six-wheeler goods carrier trucks would be permitted to ply along the affected stretch of National Highway-29, in the interest of public safety, until further notice.
