The Society for Naga Students’ Welfare Kerala (SNSWK) organized a Workers’ Seminar on July 14 at the Kerala United Theological Seminary (KUTS), Trivandrum, with the participation of around 200 workers.
A key outcome of the seminar was the successful registration of all attending workers on the Athidhi Portal, the Kerala government’s platform for migrant and unorganized sector workers, ensuring improved access to welfare schemes and official recognition.
The seminar was held in two sessions. The first, titled “Retreat Program”, focused on mental and emotional well-being, encouraging personal reflection and stress relief among participants.

The second session centered on Awareness on Drug Abuse and Its Effects. Resource persons included Harikumar PS, Assistant Commissioner of Excise and District Manager of Vimukthi Mission; Rejitha R (Labour Officer); Lakshmichandra R (Assistant Labour Officer); and Arun S (Assistant Labour Officer). They addressed the health and social consequences of drug abuse and briefed the workers on their rights and available welfare services.
The event was part of SNSWK’s ongoing initiative to support and empower Naga workers in Kerala through awareness, welfare facilitation, and community engagement.
