The five apex tribal bodies of the Ao, Angami, Sumi, Lotha and Rengma have decided not to attend the ceremony to swear-in the new Governor of Nagaland scheduled to be held on August 25.

The 5 Tribes Committee on Review of Reservation Policy (CoRRP) in a press release on Sunday while acknowledging the receipt of invitation to attend the official function at the Raj Bhavan Kohima, expressed that the tribal bodies will stand firm with their August 9 resolution and will not be attending the ceremony as the state government continues to ignore their legitimate demands despite repeated reminders.
