A 20-year-old woman from Mokokchung has accused a man she met on Facebook of raping her, leading to his arrest by Mokokchung Police. The case has been formally registered at the Women Police Station and is now under investigation.
According to the FIR, the complainant came in contact with the accused—who used the Facebook username “Hoo Lee Sheet” and was said to be residing near Queen Mary Higher Secondary School—through online interaction. The two exchanged audio calls, though the woman said she refused his request for a video call.
On September 30, 2025, the accused allegedly arrived at the complainant’s residence without her consent. Between 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., he is accused of forcing sexual intercourse upon her inside her bedroom. The FIR further noted that the accused pressured the victim to delete their Facebook chat after the incident, which she did.
