Social work along NH-29 on Nov 29

In view of the forthcoming Hornbill Festival, and in order to maintain a clean, hygiene, and welcoming environment across Dimapur District, Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Dr Tinojongshi Chang has informed all concerned that a social work would be conducted along the National Highway-29, on November 29 from 6 a.m. onwards.

According to a circular issued by the Deputy Commissioner, East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC), members would supervise, monitor, and coordinate all social work and cleanliness activities within their respective Wards. Along the National Highway-29, they are asked to ensure that public areas, market stretches; drainage system and approach roads are properly cleaned and maintained.

All Village Council under Dimapur District have been directed to organize and oversee social work activities within their respective villages. Proper collection and disposal of waste, clearing of pathways, and maintenance of public spaces must be cared out diligently.

All establishments, household, institution and shop fronts located along the National Highway-29 have been requested to undertake through cleanliness of the areas adjoining their premise, ensuring that the stretch of NH-29 passing through Dimapur remains clean, orderly, and presentable for visitor and commuters during the festival period.

All shopkeepers and business establishments have been requested to clean and maintain the immediate surroundings of their shops and ensure that waste is not discarded indiscriminately. Any shopkeeper found neglecting this instruction or found maintain these instructions or failing to maintain cleanliness would be liable for appropriate action as deemed fit by the competent authority, the Deputy Commissioner cautioned.

All concerned authorities, institutions, and citizens have been requested to extend full cooperation in maintaining the cleanliness and overall ambience of Dimapur District during the festival period.
