The Voluntary Blood Donors Association Nagaland in collaboration with Tourism Department Nagaland and partnered/supported by HDFC Bank, Imagi Nation, ETE Coffee, 8 & 8 Café, Imprint Press, NAC, NSACS, NSBTC, Block Centre NHAK and TA, Naga Regiment conducted a Free Blood Donation Camp at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, Kohima on December 5.
Additional Director, Department of Tourism, T. Kakihe Sumi in his address extended his appreciation to the Voluntary Blood Donation Association, and also conveyed his gratitude to the Territorial Army personnel and blood donors for always being coming forward during blood donations camp. He added when such activities or blood donation are held to give happiness to the people, especially to the donors. Sumi also expressed his gratitude towards the Association for their care, service, compassion and humility.
Major Issac Maben, Company Commandant 164 TA Naga Regiment congratulated Nagaland Volunteer Blood Donors Association for setting up this camp where his personnel could freely donate blood for a cause. He stated that the 164 TA Naga Regiment has 18 tribes in their battalion, and they have understood they are not able to donate blood to their families and the people far beyond because of the difficulties and the distance. But today they are being able to donate because of the initiative of the organizers to setup a Blood Camp at Kisama Heritage Village. He also asked the Nagaland Volunteer Blood Donors Association for any information with regard to blood donation where his Regiment can contribute.

Col. Manoj, Commandant 13th AR, Assam Regiment who also spoke during the event said his battalion personnel were always ready to be donors during Blood Donation Camp as they are always there to support the people of Nagaland and people living around. Blood donation is a noble action where we all could come together and serve humanity.
He also expressed compliments to entire team for conducting this event annually and hoped that it would keep growing in the future. He also shared about plans of having such camps to be conducted in their unit location in the future too.
In his welcome address, Burakum Ao, President of Nagaland Volunteer Blood Donors Association highlighted that the association is conducting its 3rd Edition of Blood Donation Camp at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama and this event is creating a movement for the people In need of blood. He also noted that the associated has around 1500 registered members through its App ‘Nagaland Blood Donors’.
A total of 23 blood donors participated in today’s Blood Donation Camp.
