The 5th edition of the Rüsoma Orange Festival 2026 would be held on January 30 and 31 at Rüsoma Local Ground under the aegis of the Rüsoma Village Council, in partnership with several government departments.
Addressing a press conference today at Vivid Lounge, Organizing Committee member, Neisatuonuo Zhale informed that this year’s festival is being organized on the theme “Abundance of Rüsoma”. The theme highlights the importance and celebration of the abundance of Rüsoma oranges along with other agricultural and horticultural organic products and local handicrafts. She added that the festival will feature various activities including cultural presentations, fun games, and stalls offering fast food, local cuisines, orange saplings, and more.
Zhale further highlighted that the first orange tree in Rüsoma is believed to have been planted during 1941–1942. In 1986, Rüsoma was adopted and declared a Gardening Village, and in 2020, the first edition of the Rüsoma Orange Festival was launched. Expressing gratitude for the journey so far, she stated that the festival aims to promote the welfare of the village, encourage rural entrepreneurship, recognize the hard labour of orange growers, and offer visitors the unique taste of Rüsoma oranges.
The festival will be organized under the aegis of the Rüsoma Village Council in collaboration with various departments, including the Agriculture Department, Horticulture Department, Rural Development Department, among others.

The inaugural function would be held on January 30 at 10 am. MLA and Advisor, Department of Tribal Affairs & Election, H Tovihoto Ayemi will grace the occasion as the special guest. The inaugural programme would be chaired by Kekhrie Pfukha, with invocation by Rev Medoneiu Üsou. The welcome address would be delivered by Visier Vimera, Convener of the Organizing Committee, followed by a special song by Medokhrieü Pfukri, an address by the special guest, and the formal opening of stalls.
It was informed that during the festival, the price of oranges will be fixed with an upper limit of Rs 140 per kg, depending on the quality of the produce and the seller. Facilities such as local guides would also be provided for visitors interested in visiting the orange orchards.
