The Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM) on Tuesday met officials of the Konyak Students’ Union (KSU), Mokokchung, to express solidarity with the people of Mon district following the recent landslide and flood tragedy.
During the meeting, the AKM conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and expressed hope for the speedy recovery and rehabilitation of all those affected by the disaster.
As a gesture of support, the student body handed over a financial contribution of ₹30,000 to the Konyak Students’ Union, Mokokchung. The amount will be utilized for relief and assistance to the victims affected by the disaster in Mon town.
AKM said the contribution reflects its solidarity with the people of Mon during this difficult time and reaffirmed its commitment to standing with communities affected by natural calamities.
Meanwhile, in a statement, the student body said it was deeply saddened by the loss of lives in Mon, describing the tragedy as a painful reminder of the devastating impact of natural disasters.
AKM conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for strength and comfort for them during this difficult time.
The organisation also expressed concern over the plight of the people of Tuli, where widespread flooding has disrupted normal life. It noted that inundation of homes, damage to infrastructure, destruction of crops and livelihoods, and the displacement of families have caused immense hardship to the community.

Stressing that natural disasters underscore the importance of unity and compassion, AKM called on people to rise above all differences and extend support to those affected by the calamities.
The student body also placed on record its appreciation for the efforts of the district administrations, the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), rescue and emergency personnel, security forces, medical teams, volunteers, civil society organisations, churches and all individuals involved in rescue, relief and rehabilitation operations despite difficult conditions.
AKM further urged the concerned authorities to ensure that relief and rehabilitation measures are implemented promptly, transparently and efficiently so that every affected family receives timely assistance.
Reaffirming its solidarity with the affected families, the organisation prayed for the eternal peace of those who lost their lives, the speedy recovery of the injured, the safety of those still at risk, and the early restoration of normalcy in all affected areas.
