Awareness Program on Financial Literacy conducted at Mount Tiyi College

Wokha: Only 8% of Nagaland population financially literate

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Mount Tiyi College Wokha, Nagaland organized a one-day awareness program on the importance of Financial Literacy on 25 August 2023 at the college premise.

C. Yanthan, Lead District Manager, Lead Bank Office, Wokha was the resource person in the awareness program.

Yanthan highlighted on the importance of effective financial management where he asserted that only 8% of the population stands literate in the state of Nagaland. The other points he emphasized were on the absence of labour union, market inefficiency, technology obsoletion, financial manager and importance of credit score, insurance schemes initiated by the Government.

The awareness program on financial literacy was chaired by Narotila Imchen, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Mount Tiyi College.
