Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and a team of Legislators and officials visited the Lower Tizu region on 30th January 2025 on their way to Mimi Village in Kiphire district.
The CM was accompanied by Minister of Power and Parliamentary Affairs K.G. Kenye; Minister of Tourism and Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along; Minister of Rural Development & SIRD, Metsubo Jamir; Advisor for Geology & Mining and DUDA, W. Chingang Konyak; Advisor, NRE & NSDMA, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe; Advisor for Fire and Emergency Services, Home Guard & Civil Defence, S. Kiusumew Yimkhiung; MLA, Benei M. Lamthiu; Chief Secretary, Dr. J. Alam, IAS; Commissioner & Secretary of Geology and Mining, I. Himato Zhimomi, and the General Manager of NST, Shikaho P Yeptho.
DIPR informed that the CM and entourage had a restful evening at Lower Tizu where they interacted with stakeholders at the proposed Lower Tizu Hydro Electric Project (42 MW).
In a post on X platform, the CM mentioned that it was his third visit to Mimi Village which is situated near the Indo-Myanmar border. He stated that the area is historically known for its limestone caves and natural beauty and called for preservation of its heritage and promotion of responsible tourism.
