The construction committee of the Sangtam Heritage Village Gate at Sanphure organized a dedicatory prayer service to officially begin the construction of the much-anticipated gate. The solemn prayer was led by Longmatra Town Baptist Lithro pastor Thsarise seeking God’s blessings for the successful completion of the project.
Following the prayer, the United Sangtam Likhum Pümji (USLP) vice president delivered words of encouragement and blessings, expressing hope that the gate would become a symbol of unity and cultural pride for the Sangtam community.
After the service, a consultative meeting was held with various organizations and village elders. The meeting was attended by representatives from the USLP, Akedha Sangtamlarü Thsingmüjang (AST), United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC), Longmatra Area Students’ Union (LASU), and elders from Sanphure village. During the discussion, the Construction Committee highlighted that the entire project is being carried out purely through crowd funding, generously contributed by well-wishers from the community. They expressed deep gratitude for the support received so far and appealed for further assistance from individuals and organizations who wish to be part of this community-driven initiative.

In a gesture of support, the USSC in collaboration with the department of Power, handed over more than 15 electric poles to be used for installing street lights in the area surrounding the heritage gate, which is expected to enhance visibility and safety, especially during night-time events and gatherings.
The construction of the Sangtam Heritage Village Gate is seen as a step towards preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Sangtam people while also serving as a landmark for future generations.
