The Chungtia Students’ Union (CSU) on Thursday issued a five-day ultimatum to the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, demanding immediate and necessary action regarding what it termed as an “incomplete and unsatisfactory” technical test report on the construction of the 50-bedded Integrated AYUSH Hospital at Sabangya under Mokokchung District.
In a representation, signed by Zaongtoshi, Convenor, and Tsuknungtemsu, President, on behalf of the Chungtia Students’ Union, and addressed to the Principal Director, Health and Family Welfare, the Union expressed strong dissatisfaction over the technical report dated September 29, 2025, issued by the Executive Engineer, Medical Engineering Division, Kohima.
The CSU stated that the report failed to provide adequate technical justification and transparency, pointing out that one of the structural beam tests was categorized as “poor and doubtful,” while the concrete core compressive strength results lacked proper substantiation. “This raises serious concerns about the quality of work and reflects unprofessional conduct on the part of Northeast Engineers,” the Union alleged.

The letter recalled that during a meeting held on September 11, 2025, involving the Chungtia Students’ Union, Chungtia Village Council, KC Infra Projects Pvt. Ltd., and representatives from the concerned department, it was agreed that a joint follow-up meeting would be convened after the technical test results were made available.
“However, despite the lapse of more than nine days since the report was issued, no initiative has been taken by the department to organize the agreed meeting,” the Union stated, adding that repeated attempts to communicate with the office of the Principal Director have gone unanswered. “No official correspondence has been received to date, undermining the Union on this matter,” it added.
The Union cautioned that failure to respond within the stipulated time frame would compel it to “initiate its own course of action,” for which it would not be held responsible for any ensuing consequences.
