The Dimapur Lotha Hoho (DLH) and Chümoukedima Lotha Hoho (CLH) on May 26, jointly organized a grand reception at Dimapur Airport to welcome Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton following his return from a visit to the Vatican.
Patton recently represented India as part of the official delegation to the Vatican, where he attended the inauguration mass of Pope Leo XIV. He was accompanied by the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Harivansh, joining dignitaries from 148 countries at the solemn global event.
On arrival at Dimapur airport, the Deputy Chief Minister was greeted with a traditional welcome. The Tsungiki Ekhung cultural troupe escorted him to the dais, showcasing vibrant elements of Lotha Naga culture.
Addressing the gathering, Patton extended his appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for nominating him to represent India at the international gathering. He also acknowledged the support provided by the Ministry of External Affairs, led by Dr. S. Jaishankar, and expressed gratitude to Nagaland Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio for facilitating his participation.
Patton emphasized the importance of the visit, highlighting the representation of a northeastern state like Nagaland at a major global religious event. He underlined the significance of such representation in promoting inclusivity and national unity.
