The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Spear Corps of the Indian Army visited the Special National Integration Camp organised by the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in Wokha today. The camp, which aims to foster unity and national integration among the youth, brought together NCC cadets from across the country to celebrate India’s diverse cultural heritage.
During his visit, the GOC interacted with the cadets, praising their discipline, enthusiasm, and commitment to national integration. In his address, he emphasised the crucial role of youth in shaping the nation’s future and commended the NCC for nurturing leadership, character, and a spirit of service among young citizens.
“It feels like only yesterday I was in your shoes, wearing the same uniform,” the GOC remarked. “Seeing all of you here today fills my heart with pride and joy. You are truly the future of this nation. It is a privilege to witness such a vibrant and diverse gathering of young people from across India. You represent the spirit of ‘Unity in Diversity,’ and I am confident that the bonds you form here will last a lifetime.”
He further highlighted the significance of the camp, which provides cadets with the unique opportunity to engage with different cultures, traditions, and peers from other states. The GOC urged the cadets to make the most of the experience, stressing that their unity, discipline, and self-belief would propel India to greater heights of success and achievement.

Later, The GOC also inaugurated the Nagaland State Day celebrations at the camp. The event showcased the rich cultural heritage of Nagaland, with traditional dances, music, and exhibitions that highlighted the state’s unique identity and contributions to the nation. This cultural exchange provided the cadets with an invaluable opportunity to experience the vibrant diversity of India’s Northeastern region.

Various departments of the Nagaland government, including the Departments of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Horticulture, Sericulture, Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Tourism, Information and Public Relations, and others, set up information and souvenir stalls to showcase the state’s culture and resources.
The event was attended by senior officers from the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, NCC officials, civil dignitaries, ex-servicemen, and local community leaders, all of whom expressed their appreciation for the NCC’s efforts in promoting national unity and cultural exchange.
