Phase VI of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 will be held on 25th May 2024 where 57 Parliamentary Constituency from 8 States and Union Territories will go to poll. The Election Commission of India has said that a total of 1978 nominations were filed and after scrutiny and withdrawals, 889 candidates will contest in the Phase VI.
This includes 20 contesting candidates for the adjourned poll in 3-Anantnag-Rajouri PC of Jammu and Kashmir.
For Phase VI of the General Elections, Uttar Pradesh had a maximum of 470 nomination forms from 14 PCs, followed by Haryana with 370 nominations from 10 PCs. 8-Ranchi Parliamentary Constituency in Jharkhand received the maximum of nominations with 70 forms filed followed by 2-North East Delhi PC in NCT of Delhi with 69 nomination forms.
The average number of contesting candidates in a PC for 6th Phase is 15.
ECI has also announced that 904 candidates from 8 States/UTs to contest elections in Phase 7 of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 scheduled for polling on 1st June 2024. A total of 2105 nominations were filed for 57 PCs across 08 States/UTs going for polls in Phase 7 for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. The last date for filing nominations for Phase 7 for all 08 States/UTs was May 14, 2024. After the scrutiny of all nominations filed, 954 nominations were found to be valid.
In Phase 7, Punjab had a maximum of 598 nomination forms from 13 Parliamentary Constituencies, followed by Uttar Pradesh with 495 nominations from 13 PCs. 36 – Jahanabad Parliamentary Constituency in Bihar received a maximum of 73 nomination forms followed by 7- Ludhiana PC in Punjab with 70 nomination forms.
The average number of contesting candidates in a PC for 7th Phase is 16.
