The first quarterfinal of the 6th Mokokchung Inter Ward Football Tournament 2025 saw Mongsenbai defeat Majakong 1-0 in a closely contested match on March 31, 2025. The match kicked off at 1:00 PM and witnessed intense action throughout both halves.
Tiatoshi (Jersey No. 17) emerged as the hero for Mongsenbai, scoring the decisive goal in the 21st minute. Despite Majakong’s best efforts to equalize, they were unable to breach Mongsenbai’s defense. The halftime score stood at 1-0 in favor of Mongsenbai, and they successfully maintained their lead until the final whistle.
The game saw tactical substitutions from both teams, with Mongsenbai making key changes in the 48th and 60+2 minutes to reinforce their defensive and attacking lines. Majakong also introduced fresh legs, but their efforts fell short.
Yellow cards were issued to Limasunep (Jersey No. 4) and Imshimong (Jersey No. 10) of Mongsenbai in the 27th and 55th minutes, respectively, and to Takawati (Jersey No. 14) and Kajenkaba (Jersey No. 1) of Majakong in the 60th and 61st minutes. The match concluded with Mongsenbai securing their place in the semifinals.

The second quarterfinal between Tongdentsuyong and Dilong ended in a goalless stalemate after regulation time, pushing the match to a penalty shootout. The clash, held later on March 31, saw both teams battle fiercely for control, but neither side could break the deadlock in 60 minutes of play with additional time of 5 minutes.
With no goals scored during regular time, the match was decided via penalties, where Dilong held their nerve and emerged victorious with 3-4 score in their penalty kick against Tongdentsuyong. Their composure in the shootout moved them to the semifinals, while Tongdentsuyong bowed out after a commendable performance.
The third and fourth quarterfinal matches of the 6th Mokokchung Inter Ward Football Tournament 2025 are set to take place on April 1, 2025, from 1:00 PM onwards.
In the third quarterfinal, Sangtemla will face Artang in what promises to be an exciting encounter. Following that, the fourth quarterfinal will see Sungkomen take on Kumlong in another highly anticipated clash. The penalty kick out results was 3-4 in favour of Dilong.
