In a year marked by relentless dedication, Mokokchung Police have wrapped up 2023 with commendable achievements in crime prevention and control.

The Media Briefing Cell (MBC) and Public Relations Officer (PRO) for Mokokchung District Police provided the crime details for Mokokchung Police from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023. Crime Statistics under various Heads/Offences included 113 Cases Registered and 192 persons arrested in the year 2023 in Mokokchung District.

In a diverse range of offences from heinous crimes like murder and extortion to societal issues such as cheating and criminal trespass, Mokokchung Police tackled an array of challenges in 2023. The spectrum included vehicle accidents, hurt, and the outraging modesty of a woman. Additionally, cases under various IPC Sections, Arms Act, NDPS Act, NLTP Act, NSR Act, and Explosive Substance Act were also addressed.

In the battle against narcotics, the Mokokchung police successfully seized 353.81 grams of Brown Sugar, along with 2951 Spasmo Proxyvon Capsules, valued at approximately 19 lakhs. Further seizures included 08 bottles of NOVOCOFF-CT Cough syrup and 07 Alprazolam Tablets.

Mokokchung Police also cracked down on illegal liquor activities with an impressive haul. The confiscated loot comprised 14,233 bottles of MC Rum, 786 bottles of Whisky, and 3,364 Beer bottles, with a cumulative worth estimated at around 85 lakhs.

The police displayed exceptional vigilance in disarming potential threats to public safety. Seizures included 32 Pistols with Magazines, 2 AK Series Rifles, 1 38 Pistol, 1 12 Bore Gun, 2 22 Rifles, and a unique 22 Pen Pistol. Ammunition confiscated included 15 live rounds of 7.65, 64 live rounds of 7.62, and 49 live rounds of .22 caliber. Explosives seized included 1 Crude Bomb, 104 Gelatine Sticks, 47 Detonators/Caps, and 32 Fuse wires.
