The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) today joined the nationwide protest called by the All India Congress Committee (AICC), against the blatant misuse of central agencies by the BJP led central government and its relentless political vendetta against opposition voices.
The protest was held at two locations—Congress Bhavan in Kohima and another at Dimapur, organized by the District Congress Committee (DCC) Dimapur.
Speaking at the Kohima protest, S. Supongmeren Jamir, Member of Parliament and NPCC President, said that Congress leaders like Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and K.C. Venugopal are raising their voices for the rights of minorities and OBCs. He said the BJP government was trying to divert these issues to stop Congress from working for the people, but the party remains committed.
Khriedi Theünuo, Working President of NPCC, added that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was trying to shut down National Herald, a newspaper that shares the voice of the people. He also said that the Modi government was trying to silence Congress and other opposition voices.

Addressing the protest held at Dimapur, outside the Office of the Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, C. Apok Jamir, Working President of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), stated that this was not just a protest but a mass movement to protect democracy and uphold the Constitution of India, adding further that the RSS and BJP government have systematically eroded the principles of the Constitution.
Jamir also highlighted how the ED was being misused as a political tool to target Congress leaders without any proper evidence, and added that the Congress Party was being selectively targeted because it stands with the poor, the minorities, and the marginalized.
The protests concluded peacefully, with renewed pledges to continue fighting for justice, democracy, and the people of India.
