The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has condemned the “outrageous and inhuman ambush” upon the Church leaders of the Thadou Baptist Association, wherein three individuals namely were brutally killed and five others grievously injured while returning from Churachanpur between Kotzin and Kotlen. Among those tragically killed was Rev. V Sithou, former General Secretary of the Manipur Baptist Convention, Pastor Kaigoulun Lhouvum and Pastor Paogoulen Sitlhou.

The Federation also condemned the deadly ambush carried out on innocent Chiru Naga civilian at Joujangtek area in Noney district on May 13, 2026, wherein Wilson Thanga was mercilessly killed on the spot while his wife sustained critical injuries. Also, the NSF condemned the alleged abduction of two innocent religious men namely Bro Peter Küvisie Poji from the Pochury Naga community and Bro Aching Paul from the Rongmei Naga community on the night of May 13 from Saparmaina while travelling from Don Bosco Imphal to Don Bosco Maram.

At the same time, the Federation said it is disturbed with reports having emerged that nearly eighteen innocent Nagas from Konsakhul village have been held hostage by individuals from Leilon Vaiphei village.

The Naga Students’ Federation questions the continued inaction of both the State and Central Government despite recurring attacks that continue to claim innocent lives.

“Whereas, the two religious brothers and twelve women hostages were reportedly released, the atrocities perpetrated upon the Nagas remain unresolved,” the NSF said and demanded unconditional and immediate release of all the Naga hostages unharmed by the perpetrators.

It further reiterated that while the Naga people does not condone violence, “neither shall we kneel as silent spectators while injustice burns before our eyes.”
