The Department of Law Nagaland University, Lumami is set to organize two-day International Conference on “Synergy Between Deep Tech and Socio Legal Transformation: Strategies for Viksit Bharat @2047” on April 29 and 30.
By facilitating international collaboration and multidisciplinary approach, the event is expected to contribute to the development of innovative legal theories, policies, and practices capable of addressing contemporary and future global concerns. The event will be conducted in a hybrid mode, enabling participation from researchers and professionals across the globe.
The Conference aims to study the evolving relationship between emerging technologies and legal systems in a rapidly changing global landscape. With breakthroughs in Artificial Intelligence (AI), block chain, and other deep technologies that transform governance, economy, and society. The event also seeks to foster dialogue on changing legal frameworks to ensure justice, equity, and sustainability.
The conference will be graced by MLA Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhutso as the Special Guest. Nellayappan B, OSD to Chief Minister & Deputy Director (Legal) School Education would be present as the Guest of Honour. The Valedictory Programme would be graced by Nino Iralu, Lokayukta & former Sessions Judge, as the Special Guest.

Experts from different countries, including Jorg Molt, Alejandro Mandujano, Prof MK Bhandari, Amana Alkalo, and Prof Yugal Kishore are expected to contribute insights into the intersection of technology and law.
The key discussions would revolve around the impact of deep technology on areas such as governance, education, environmental sustainability, human rights, corporate law, and criminal justice. Issues like data protection, artificial intelligence accountability, cybersecurity, climate justice, and global legal cooperation will also be addressed.
The conference would examine how technological breakthroughs are transforming social structures, political institutions, and communication systems, while addressing ethical concerns and challenges to legal professions in the digital age.
