Prabhat Pheri held across the state

Kohima: In view of the celebration of the 75th year of India’s Independence, “Prabhat Pheri” (Morning Processions) as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav were held in different districts of State on 10th August 2022

Kohima

In the State Capital, Kohima it was organized by District Administration and DEF Kohima.

The rally kick-started at two locations- one at Tinpati junction with DC Kohima, Shanavas C, IAS flagging off the campaign and at PHQ junction by Sr. SP Kohima, Kivithuto Sophie, IPS. The procession culminated at the Old MLA Hostel junction with a short program. The DC Kohima said that the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign is to celebrate the 75th year of India’s Independence from British rule, and therefore, encouraged the gathering to feel proud of being independent Indians. The DC urged every citizen to honour and respect the Indian national flag by hoisting it in their homes, shops, schools, and offices.

Sr. SP Kohima, Kevithuto Sophie, IPS appealed to all the citizens to give tribute to the freedom fighters with reverence by celebrating Har Ghar Tiranga in true spirit.

A host of officials from District Administration DEF Kohima, Employees from different Government Departments, schools, and the public attended the programme.

Pughoboto

At Pughoboto Sub Division the procession was led by ADC Pughoboto, Tiamern Chang.

Speaking to the gathering at local ground, ADC expressed that the “Har Ghar Tiranga” Campaign is going on in the whole of the country in every corner, which was initiated and led by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi to mark the 75th Year of Indian Independence. Informing that National Flag is the Identity and pride of all, he urged the people to hoist it.

The walk started from Local Ground Pughoboto and culminated at the ADC’s Office with the involvement of Government offices, DEF, NAP, teachers, students, youth, and others. SDO Civil R. Daniel Angami thanked the participants for honouring the event.

Chumoukedima

The procession conducted in the Chumoukedima district was jointly organized by the Chumoukedima administration, police 1st NAP, 15th NAP (IR), and PTS.

DC Chumoukedima, Abhinav Shivam, IAS, in his brief address, expressed gratitude to all the participants and thanked each one for taking their time to be part of the walk. He said that the walk is an awareness exercise to invoke people about the national flag.

He mentioned that under this campaign, the Chumoukedima district has been organizing various competitions like painting, essay, and quiz competitions in schools. He further informed that the campaign will continue till 12th August 2022- where School Students will participate on 11th August and on 12th August, Civil Societies Organisations, and Youth organizations will participate in the morning procession respectively.

The morning walk started from Chumoukedima Gate -2 and culminated at the shopping complex opposite Niathu Resort. The morning Procession was led by DC Chumoukedima, SP Chumoukedima, ADC, and participants including government officials, CSOs, CTYO, Student Union bodies, Police, IR, Mahila, SPC, and Traffic Police carrying the National Flag. Earlier, the Mahila piper band played the National Anthem.

Zunheboto

In Zunheboto the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign Prabhat Pheri (morning walk/procession) was organised by the District Administration Zunheboto in commemoration of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav campaign. Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto Rahul Bhanudas Mali IAS and SP Zunheboto Khekali Sema led the procession. The walkathon was attended by school students and the public.
