The Seyochung Village Students Union (SVSU) has written to the Additional Deputy Commissioner expressing its dissatisfaction against the ongoing road metalling by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) between Sitimi-Seyochung route.

“Despite having informed the concerned department prior to the commencement of the project regarding our expectations and concerns, there has been no visible seriousness in the execution of the work. The project lacks proper supervision, and there appears to be no standard in terms of quantity or quality,” stated the SVSU.

During the course of the ongoing work, the Union mentioned, that it raised concerns and communicated the need for immediate attention. However, no concrete steps were taken to address the issues raised.

To substantiate its concerns, the SVSU also attached a few photographs displaying the current state of the roadwork. “The road condition has degraded even before the project has been finished,” the Union noted.

It requested the concerned authority to take the matter seriously and initiate appropriate action against the irregularities observed in the road construction. “The people of the area deserve a proper and safe road, and any negligence in public works should not be tolerated,” SVSU maintained.
