Tuensang Police conducts awareness on cyber crime, drug use & abuse, women safety and anti-human trafficking

In an effort to generate awareness on Cyber Crime, Drug use & abuse, Women Safety and Anti-Human Trafficking, the Tuensang Police conducted a one day awareness programme at Government High School Tuensang on November 18. Around 800 (eight hundred) students and staffs were participants on the event.

The participants were highlighted on classification of cybercrime – Crime against people, crime against property and crime against government and subsequently updated the most important common platform such as – Phishing link, Nigerian Scam, Online relationship, Ransomware, reverse engineering attack, Pink WhatsApp, Online shopping, GB WhatsApp, Identity Theft, Sextortion, OLX Scam, Lottery Scam, QR Code Scam, Helpline Fraud, Gift Card Scam, e-loan Scam, Deep fake Scam etc.

Further, important prevention measures were also shared to all the participants to strengthen cyber security for prevention from cyber crime such as –

1)         Abstenance from clicking unknown link on social media and uploading personal detail.

2)         5 safety tips to stay safe online on Social Media Platform

3)         Stop NCII  (Non-Consensual Intimate Image) –  a free tool designed to support victims of Non-Consensual Intimate Imageabuse.

4)         CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) portal were also shared to all the participants

The programme highlighted the rise of narcotic drugs in the district, and participants were enlightened to be aware and familiarize the effect and harmful of Narcotic. During the awareness drive, drugs policy in Tuensang District, effect of drugs, effect uses of Narcotic, violation, legal section of law and challenge to restraint from narcotic were also shared among the students and teaching staffs with the slogan,  “Say Yes to Life and Say No to Drugs”

The awareness programme also focused on the topic of “Women Safety” to create awareness among the women and children. The speakers shared some important sections of law on women safety, preventive measures and helpline numbers.

Considering the rise of human trafficking in the society, the programme highlighted “Anti – Human Trafficking” issues to create awareness and familiarize the gathering on trafficking. The cause of trafficking, demand of human trafficking, who is trafficked, involvements, why human trafficking is not noticed and some legal sections of law were also shared among the students and staffs attending the programme.
