Tongdentsuyong and Mongsenbai booked their places in the semifinals of the 7th Mokokchung Inter-Ward Football Tournament 2026 after registering wins over Sangtemla and Arkong respectively in the quarterfinals.

In the third quarterfinal, Tongdentsuyong edged past former champions Sangtemla via penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in full time. Meyasenba (10) put Sangtemla ahead in the 41st minute, while Atoshe (13) equalised for Tongdentsuyong in the 53rd minute. With no further goals in regulation and extra time, the match was decided on penalties, where Tongdentsuyong prevailed 5-4 to seal a semifinal berth. Sangtemla, the 4th MIWFT title winners, exited the tournament after a tough game play.

In the fourth quarterfinal, Mongsenbai defeated Arkong Ward 5-2 in a high-scoring match. Arkong, the inaugural champions and two-time title winner conceded early as Nungshisashi (10) scored in the 1st minute. Imnatoshi (19) levelled for Mongsenbai in the 22nd minute and added his second in the 35th minute. Yangersosang (15) extended the lead in the 50th minute, followed by Asish (10) in the 55th minute. Manwong (17) pulled one back for Arkong in the 72nd minute, but Shiponglepba (3) sealed the result with a stoppage-time goal (90+5).

Mongsenbai, the 2022 champions, advance alongside Tongdentsuyong. It may be noted that among the six former title winners, only Artang and Mongsenbai remain in contention, with Arkong and Sangtemla knocked out.

The semifinals will feature Sungkomen vs Artang Ward and Mongsenbai vs Tongdentsuyong. The first semifinal is scheduled for April 1, where Sungkomen will face Artang Ward. Temjentemsu S will grace the match as Match Patron.
