Kohima district administration has raised concern over the frequent damage and defacement of public infrastructure, including roads, pavements, and railings.

In a press release, Deputy Commissioner, B Henok Buchem, NCS stated that any individual or group found responsible for such acts would be held accountable. Offenders would either be required to bear the cost of restoring the damaged property or face penalties under Section 325 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 3 of the Nagaland Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 1951.

The administration has also urged citizens to take collective responsibility for safeguarding community assets and to cooperate with district authorities in ensuring their proper maintenance and upkeep.
