NSCN (IM) reaffirms commitment to Naga cause, backs Collective Leadership and Framework Agreement

The NSCN (IM) has reiterated its unwavering commitment to the Naga national movement, declaring that it would neither surrender nor compromise on the Naga political cause. The declaration came after a Joint Council meeting held at the Council Headquarters, Hebron, where leaders adopted a series of resolutions reaffirming support for the collective leadership and the 2015 Framework Agreement.

According to MIP, NSCN/GPRN,

A Joint Council of the NSCN/GPRN convened at its Council Headquarters in Hebron on Thursday to deliberate on critical issues confronting the Naga national movement.

Following intensive deliberations, the Joint Council unanimously adopted a set of resolutions and reaffirmed its position on the Indo-Naga political struggle.

The Council declared its “uncompromising commitment” to the Naga cause and stated that the NSCN/GPRN, under the Collective Leadership of Yaruiwo Q Tuccu, Kedalo Tongmeth Wangnao, Ato Kilonser Th Muivah and Deputy Ato Kilonser Lt. Gen (Retd.) VS Atem, VC, has never surrendered and would never compromise or surrender what it termed the “sacred Naga National Cause.”

It also formally endorsed the existing collective leadership, expressing confidence in its role in guiding the organization and leading the Naga people in their historical movement for self-determination.

In another key resolution, the Joint Council reaffirmed its commitment to the Indo-Naga Framework Agreement signed on August 3, 2015, describing it as the foundational basis for an honourable political settlement. The Council stated that the organization would continue to protect, defend and uphold the agreement in the ongoing political negotiations.

Calling the present period a “defining hour” in Naga history, the NSCN (IM) called upon all Naga citizens, regional authorities and sympathizers of the Naga cause to remain united behind the Collective Leadership.
