Altogether, six candidates from Noklak District filed their nominations on Tuesday.
Three candidates each from 56th Noklak and 57th Thonoknyu Assembly constituencies filed their nominations at DC & DEO Office Noklak District HQ to their respective Returning Officers for the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
H.Haiying who is the sitting MLA and Advisor to Prison, Printing and Stationery, Government of Nagaland is contesting as the BJP candidate for 56th Noklak A/C.
On being asked on which area or field will focus apart from the unfinished tasks, Haiying told Nagaland Tribune that he would focus on all things together. Stating that there were many things to be done in the constituency, the candidate said that road, health and education were his main focal points.
P.Longon, candidate for National Congress Party (NCP) and P. Mulang, candidate for Indian National Congress (INC) will be contesting from 56th Noklak A/C against H.Haiying of BJP party.

L.Khumo Khiamniungan, Advisor, Fisheries and Aquatic Evaluation, Economic and Statistics will be contesting as the Lok Janshakti Part (LJP) candidate for the 57th A/C Thonoknyu constituency.
In an interview, Khumo stated that if elected, his first priority will be building road connection without which nothing can be done, he said.
S.Heno Khiamniungan, National Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) candidate and Benie M. Lamthiu, National People ‘s Party (NPP) candidate will be contesting from 57th A/C Thonoknyu constituency against L.Khumo, LJP party.
Benie M. Lamthiu, a fresh NPP candidate, speaking to Nagaland Tribune pointed out that the dynamics of politics need to be changed in the 57th Thonoknyu Constituency.
Stating that we are living in an advanced world, he emphasized that the youth, the future, need to stand up for “our rights”. “We need to go hand in hand with the rest of the Nagas,” Benie said.
He regretted that his constituency is lacking in all four corners and assured that if elected, he will first focus on education, stating that education is the mightiest weapon for changing the world.
Further, he stated that it will take time, but he will make sure that his vision of the constituency getting good roads and health services will be achieved.
Benie also lauded the elders for enabling the 57th Thonoknyu constituency to be in the political map of Nagaland.
