Kiphire tribal bodies take resolutions for peaceful and fair NLA polls

United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP), Eastern Sumi Hoho, Yimkhiung Tribal Council (YTC) and Tikhir Tribal Council (TTC) on Wednesday adopted certain resolutions for the peaceful and fair conduct of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly election in Kiphire district, a joint statement said.

The tribal bodies have “unanimously resolved” that no individual or group will be allowed to practice “tribalism, clanism and Areanism”, Naga Political Groups (NPGs)/Factions must not involve in the election process “by way of capturing individual/Group (vote) of any political party(s) under Kiphire District”, all electorates should practice free and fair election, and destroying/damaging of properties in connection with the election matter in any of the constituencies will not be allowed.

The resolutions were made at a consultative meeting held at the United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) Office in Kiphire.

The tribal bodies have informed that violators of its resolutions will be dealt with “stringent action.”
