Eastern Naga Students’ Federation on Wednesday appealed for an election-friendly environment in all constituencies in the eastern areas of Nagaland.
In a statement, ENSF denounced the “use of money and muscle power” during the General Election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly as it “leads to the backwardness of the areas and its people.” It urged intending candidates, public and students to participate in the ensuing election in fairness for the sake of the students’ future.
The students organisation expressed its dismay at some reports alleging candidates of “luring” young electorates with jobs and stated that making such false promises will have adverse impact on students and the young unemployed. It therefore asked students to remain vigil against such “deceitful” assurances but instead study sincerely and bring laurels to the eastern communities.
It also appealed the students who are going to appear the board exams to cast their franchise “in all fairness” but to refrain from indulging in other election related activities.
Further the federation urged voters as well as candidates to promote clean election.
