In an attempt to curb and control drug and alcohol menace in society, the Tuensang Police has been conducting a series of raids and organising seminars to build awareness.
A one-day Seminar was organised by the Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST) Centre, District Hospital, Tuensang on 9th September at Conference Hall, SBLTT (Sangtam Baptist Lithro Tuensang Town). UBSI I. Yongkongtoshi of DEF Tuensang spoke during the technical session on NDPS Act. He highlighted the different sections under NDPS Act and spoke on the importance of awareness to control & curb this drugs menace in the society for better wellbeing.
In an effort to spread awareness on cyber crime, the DEF Tuensang conducted a “Capacity Building on Cyber Crime” from September 15-16 with the aim to sensitize the police personnel of DEF Tuensang. During the programme, ASI. Putiyanger, I/C Cyber Cell, Tuensang deliberated on various topics such as: online threats, Investigation procedure on Cyber Crime, CDR Analysis and other dangers lurking in cyber space. Additional SP Tuensang also encouraged the attendees to empower themselves with knowledge about cyber crime to avoid falling into the traps of cyber criminals. Altogether 100 (one hundred) personnel of the unit participated in the programme.

CASES REGISTERED
A press release issued by the PRO and Additional Superintendent of Police informed the number and details of cases registered in the past weeks.
On August 31, a written Suo- moto FIR was received from UBI Chuba Onen, Officer-in-Charge, Police Station Tuensang stating that, at around 1700hrs on a tip off, a house search was conducted led by one NGO and QRT party Tuensang at Bazaar ‘B’ NST road Tuensang. During the search, 240 (two hundred forty) bottles of illegal MC rum (750ml) was seized from the possession of one person.
In this connection a regular criminal case has been registered vide Tuensang PS under the NLTP Act for further investigation.
On September 13, a written Suo-Moto FIR was received from ASI. Chilliam stating that, on September 12, at around 15:30 hrs, she along with Tuensang PS personal and QRT party proceeded to 3 NAP Ward Tuensang for checking Illicit liquor. The party conducted search on a suspected house and seized 19 bottles of IMFL MC Rum (750ml) and 32 bottles of (180 ml), accordingly the alleged accused was arrested and produced at Tuensang Police Station.
In this connection a regular criminal case has been registered in Tuensang PS under the NLTP Act for further investigation.
On September 16, a written Suo-Moto FIR was received from UBI Chubaonen, OC PS Tuensang stating that, on the same day while conducting raid at officers colony Tuensang, Illicit liquor were seized during the raid: (i) Cane beer (kingfisher)- 39 canes (ii) Old Monk RUM (750 ml)- 04 bottles (iii) Beer (kingfisher)- 05 bottles (iv) Vodka (magic moment)-02 bottles (v) Blenders Pride Whiskey (750 ml)- 01 bottle (vi) Sterling reserve Whiskey (750 ml)- 01 bottle (vii) Royal Stag Whiskey (750 ml)- 02 bottles (viii) Royal challenge Whiskey (750 ml)- 01 bottle (ix) MC RUM (750 ml)- 20 bottles were recovered from the possession of a person from Bihar who was arrested and produced at Tuensang PS.
In this connection a regular criminal case has been registered under the NLTP Act for further investigation.
The Tuensang Police has also cracked 13 theft cases in the last three months and arrested 14 persons in and around Tuensang town.
With the rising theft cases in Tuensang town, the Tuensang Police has advised citizens, not to buy any item which is suspected to be stolen good.
