Independent Lok Sabha candidate Hayithung Bill Lotha has extended gratitude to all his well wishers and supporters, and further congratulated MP elect Supongmeren Jamir.
Accepting his defeat in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls in Nagaland, Lotha mentioned that this is the second consecutive electoral defeat for him in the Lok Sabha fray since 2019. “But nevertheless it has not dented my ‘fiery spirit to participate and win in a democratic contest’,” stated Lotha.
Expressing gratitude to supporters and well wishers who voted for him, the losing candidate also thanked the media fraternity for wide coverage during Lok Sabha campaigning.
“I herein congratulate S.Supongmeren Jamir for his ‘Historic and record making thumping victory’ which has never before been seen in Lok Sabha battles in Nagaland since Nagaland was granted Statehood in 1963. It is a ‘most humiliating defeat’ of the force and strength of the ruling PDA 60 MLA’s against the aptly named ‘Superman Supongmeren Jamir’. I sincerely wish that Supongmeren will be a ‘good performing Lok Sabha MP’ keeping the interest and aspirations of Nagaland as of paramount value,” stated Lotha.
He also thanked his fellow competing candidate Dr. Chumben Murry for his ‘energetic and motivating campaign’ and wished him the best in all his future endeavours.

The candidate also resolved and re-affirmed to wholeheartedly work for the fulfillment of the ENPO’s FNT demand in future days/years to come. “However, ENPO must strongly realise in a democratic country like INDIA the ultimate ‘power play’ is as per the result of the Lok Sabha polls. It must learn a lesson from the current 18th Lok Sabha fractured mandate wherein even small regional parties to the extend of 1 or 2 Lok Sabha MP’s have the power to ‘aggressively dictate terms’ to a big party like BJP. Had ENPO voted and elected their own FNT inclined Lok Sabha MP from Nagaland, the ENPO would have a ‘strong bargaining power’ through the formation of a friendly central government whichever Block it maybe; thereby achieving the FNT dream in reality,” maintained Lotha.
“Therefore, in future Lok Sabha elections, I humbly urge the ENPO to participate and elect their own favoured candidate because no vote means NO POWER to decide. It must understand FNT can only happen through a friendly Prime Minister who is politically indebted,” added Lotha.
