Two students from Nagaland to attend SSHP in Japan

Two students from government schools of Nagaland have been selected to attend the Sakura Science High School Program (SSHP) in Japan under the aegis of Samagra Shiksha Nagaland from June 13-21.

An update from Samagra Shiksha Nagaland informed that the seven-day program will be sponsored by the Union Ministry of Education. As per the criteria set by the ministry, the

Samagra Shiksha Nagaland shortlisted meritorious students who passed out the High School Leaving Certificate examination from government schools and pursuing science stream in government schools.

The ministry has selected Shethilu Medeo from Ruzhukhrie Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima and Iris Zomawii Lushai from Chumoukedima Government Higher Secondary School, Chumoukedima (CGHSS). Post-Graduate Teacher from CGHSS Gihukali Sema has also been selected as their supervisor, the update stated.

The seve-day program will also include visits to schools, universities and various technological and cultural sites in Japan. The students will also participate in certain activities and deliver brief presentations.

The Sakura Science High School Program (SSHP) is a science youth exchange program. It is an initiative by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), supported in India through the Ministry of Education. The program aims to foster scientific curiosity, cultural exchange and international collaboration among exceptional high school students.
