The 5 Tribes Committee on Review of Reservation Policy (CoRRP) has expressed strong disappointment over the outcome of the Nagaland State Cabinet meeting held on August 6, calling it a mere repetition of the June 12 Cabinet decision that failed to address their core demands on the Backward Tribe (BT) reservation issue.
In a press statement issued by Convenor, Er Tesinlo Semy and Member Secretary GK Zhimomi, the committee accused the government of ignoring their main concerns and instead going ahead with the composition of a Reservation Review Commission that includes civil society organizations (CSOs) such as the Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC), Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO), and Tenyimi Union Nagaland (TUN).
The committee also criticized the Government Spokesperson’s remarks during the media briefing, accusing him of adopting a partisan approach by defending the 48-year-old indefinite reservation policy and presenting “wild imaginary figures” related to government employment.

Interlinking Reservation Review Commission outcome with next census while briefing the media has only added insult to our movement, it added.
The 5 Tribes CoRRP informed that it would be holding a joint sitting with the five apex tribe bodies soon to deliberate and decide on the next course of action.
