The closing programme of the Adult Literacy Campaign was held at Tsungiki Village on August 8, initiated by the Wokha District Administration, Department of Social Welfare, District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) under Mission Shakti (Beti Bachao Beti Padhao), in collaboration with the Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) and PRI-CPO Chukitong Block.
EAC Sangmou Khiamniungan, speaking on behalf of the District Administration, expressed satisfaction over the progress made through the campaign. He noted that basic literacy “opens many doors” and reiterated the administration’s commitment to bringing literacy to every illiterate citizen in the district.
The SDEO congratulated the learners for completing the programme, noting they were fortunate to benefit from the opportunity. The DPO, Department of Social Welfare, acknowledged the support of various stakeholders and said literacy would enable individuals to become independent while accessing welfare schemes. He congratulated the learners for their three-month dedication and also highlighted the roles of DHEW and Mission Shakti.

NSRLM Block Programme Manager shared how the campaign was initiated and thanked the Zukhumki Federation for their contribution.
During the programme, the learners demonstrated skills gained during the campaign. Certificates and gifts were presented to them by Chichanthung Ezung, Gender Specialist, DHEW.
Chairing the programme, Lily Humtsoe, CCRP PRI-CPO, welcomed the gathering, with the welcome address delivered by the VDB Secretary of Tsungiki Village on behalf of the Village Council.
