The Shamator District Amateur Boxing Association (SDABA) has expressed deep dissatisfaction over what it terms “unfair and undemocratic” practices in the election of Nagaland Amateur Boxing Association (NABA) officials held on August 9, 2025.

In a statement, SDABA said it had completed all necessary formalities through the Deputy Commissioner’s office for recognition and participation, and had received acceptance letters from the concerned authority. However, the association alleged that Shamator, along with certain other districts, was not given the privilege to vote in the election.

The statement further criticized the unilateral inclusion of the SDABA president in the NABA executive body without prior consent, calling it “an insult” to the district association and “a challenge to the integrity” of SDABA.

According to SDABA, eight district presidents had demanded a fresh election, citing an “unfair and undemocratic” process, but the NABA officials “turned a deaf ear” to these appeals.

“A platform which is supposed to be the ground of opportunities is now the ground of corruption,” the association remarked.

The Association along with other districts felt that justice has been denied and condemned this “undemocratic process” and demanded that justice to be delivered without delay.

The SDABA reiterated its demand for corrective measures and a fair election process, warning that “justice delayed is justice denied.”
