The closing ceremony of the 5th Session Lt Lihwang Memorial Futsal Trophy 2022 was held at Shangsa Local Ground, Mon on 17 November.

The ceremony was organised by Shangsa Students’ Union under the theme ‘Team Spirit Wins the Crown’ with W Empe Konyak, R O 6th NAP Battalion, as the guest of honour.

The guest of honour delivered a brief speech encouraging the Shangsa Students body, the council of the village, Gaon Bura, village elders and the church members to be united as one.

He urged the players to choose the right profession wisely and to henceforth focus on the targeted goal.

Shortly after his speech, the much-awaited final match kick-off was played between The Rangers Football Club and Thunder V Football Club.

The thrilling kick-off match was won by The Rangers Football Club with the lone winning goal scored by David Konyak. The champion team walked away with a prize of Rs 30,000 and the runners up with Rs 15,000. The guest of honour distributed the prizes.

The closing ceremony programme was chaired by N Naohi, followed with the welcome address by R Manlem, former President SSU. A special number was performed by A Tingkhah.

Shangtun, Vice President SSU, delivered the vote of thanks and the ceremony ended with a closing prayer by Penwang, Youth Director SBBY.
