The Angami Public Organization (APO) has on Saturday stated that only mutual respect and dialogue can produce amicable and lasting solution to conflicts on the iconic Naga Club building.

Expressing its concern over the defacing of the Naga Students Federation (NSF) central office in the heritage building in Kohima on Saturday morning, APO stated that such wrong and unjustified acts are alien to the Naga culture. The organisation said that the building was ‘preserved and used valiantly by patriotic Naga youths to uphold the Naga struggle, to destroy such a monument is a great loss for all the Nagas.’

Acknowledging that the ‘Naga Club is Naga History’ and ‘NSF is today and the future’, APO stated, ‘both entities are valued by the Nagas who are today at a decisive stage of our perilous journey to the future.’

At this juncture, the apex body of the Angami tribe appealed to all Nagas to show understanding of the positions taken in the conflict and urged all to desist from aggravating situations but show the compassion in helping resolve the issue which will serve the larger cause of the Nagas.
