Dimapur Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (North) organised a 10-Day National Integration Tour (NIT) to Gujarat for students of Dimapur and Chümoukedima districts of Nagaland from 30 September to 10 October 2022.
The tour was organised with the aim to provide the students an exposure to various educational and industrial institutions in the state of Gujarat to bring about a comprehensive growth.
The NIT was flagged-off on 29 September from Tetso College by Brigadier Sachinder Tiwari, Sena Medal, Commander, 6 Sector Assam Rifles in the presence of civil dignitaries, Goan Buras, professors & students Tetso college and St Joseph University.
A total of 16 students, including nine girls and seven boys and two professors from the colleges participated in the tour.
An important highlight of the tour for the students was getting the honour of interacting with Acharya Devvrat, the Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat on 6 October.

In what was an immensely rich learning experience, the students and professors visited Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, Statue of Unity, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Gandhinagar, Reliance Refinery, Ahmedabad Science City, Vikram Sarabhai Space Exhibition Centre, Sabarmati Ashram, Akshardham Temple and Narara Marine Park.
En-route, the students also visited India Gate and the National War Memorial in New Delhi.
During the tour, the students also got an opportunity to witness a demonstration by the elite National Security Guards (NSG) and an equipment display by 18 Maratha Light Infantry Battalion.
The tour programme was flagged in at St Joseph University on 11 October 2022 by Major General Vikas Lakhera, Sena Medal, IGAR (North).
The flag in programme was attended by local administration officials and college staffs. During the programme, student representatives shared their experiences of the tour. The fortunate students who participated in the programme were then felicitated by Major General Vikas Lakhera, Sena Medal, IGAR (North).

The National Integration Tours are educational and motivational tours for youth of Jammu & Kashmir and North Eastern States, with an aim to provide an insight into the rich heritage of the country as well as various developmental and industry initiatives that are underway. This initiative will expose them to various career options and enable them to interact with renowned personalities.
