The Centre Chakhesang Public Organization (CCPO), Phek, Nagaland, has approved the change of nomenclature from Centre Chakhesang Sports Association (CCSA) to Centre Chakhesang Youth Organisation (CCYO).

The approval was issued by CCPO president Pupohu Lohe following “careful review and deliberations” in the general executive meeting held on March 18, 2026 at Sakraba Town under the banner of the CCPO.

A programme in this regard was held on May 2 at Town Hall, Sakraba, where elderly blessings were pronounced by Pukhuhu Dzudo and a dedicatory prayer was offered by Kuduhuto Dazo, Pastor, Sakraba Baptist Church (SBC).

According to the official approval, the association will henceforth be officially recognised as the “Centre Chakhesang Youth Organization (CCYO)”. It clarified that the approval pertains solely to the change of name, while the aims, objectives, and legal structure pertaining to the constitution of the Centre Chakhesang Sports Association will remain unchanged.

It further directed that the incumbent CCYO update all official records, including bank accounts, letterheads, stamp seals and any available registration certificates, within 30 days. The newly named organisation will inherit all existing assets, liabilities, and ongoing commitments of the former association.

The CCPO stated that the approval was granted with the expectation that the newly christened Centre Chakhesang Youth Organisation (CCYO) would continue its work in youth development, sporting activities, cultural practices and societal relationship, community service, and also take on a bigger role “to deal law & order situation” in coordination with village authorities and its apex body, CCPO.

The programme was led by Thuvoswuyi Lohe, Advisor, CCSA, while the invocation prayer was offered by Zhovetso Keroh, Pastor, GBC.
