The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has expressed profound grief and outrage over the abduction and killing of six Naga civilians, whose mortal remains were reportedly recovered in a mutilated state, and strongly condemned what it described as a heinous act carried out by Kuki militants.
In a statement, the Union said the recovery of the victims’ bodies in a dismembered and unrecognizable condition reflected a level of demonic savagery that has shaken the conscience of the entire Naga nation.
According to DNSU, the victims, including church leaders, were allegedly targeted because of being Naga. The Union described the incident as not only a criminal act but also a direct and unprovoked assault on the collective identity, dignity and land rights of the Naga people.
DNSU also criticized the role of the Assam Rifles, alleging that despite their heavy presence and hi-tech deployment, they have acted as passive spectators to a month-long abduction crisis, raising deep suspicion of bias and institutional neutrality failures.

It also denounced the absolute complacency of the Government of India and said by continuing to shield these elements under the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement, the Central Government has become an indirect enabler of terrorism on their ancestral soil.
The Union demanded the immediate abrogation of the SoO pact with Kuki militant groups and an immediate, independent inquiry into the security forces’ failure to protect innocent lives.
The DNSU further called upon all Nagas, particularly the student community and the youth across borders to rise up, stand united as one, and prepare themselves for any eventualities.
“We must defend our people, our identity, and our land rights against any forces attempting to destabilize our peace or infringe upon our security,” the DNSU said while expressing solidarity with the families of the martyrs.
