The Mon Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (North) live screened the FIFA World Cup 2022 match on Sunday in Longwa village, located in Mon district along the Indo Myanmar border.

The FIFA World Cup screening was done in the village church ground, with enthusiasm running high among people to watch the live match on the big screen.

With the whole village gathering together only during pre-Christmas celebrations or other common events, the screening was a first-time experience for many of the village people.

The crowd included children, senior citizens and also some foreign tourists who were amazed to watch the World Cup in Longwa.

Hot tea was served during the match which was appreciated by those present.

The Assam Rifles also plans to live screen the final match.
