SDO (Electrical) Longleng, Moichung Shembu Phom has informed to all the citizens and electricity consumers of Longleng Town that installation of Smart Meters is being carried out in the district Head Quarter as per the directive and policy initiative of the Government of India under the power sector digitalization program namely Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).

In accordance with official government directives, all electricity supply must be managed through a properly functioning meter. The purpose of smart metering is to improve transparency, billing accuracy, energy management and overall efficiency of electricity services for consumers.

The installation process is being conducted strictly through authorized agencies and officials only. All consumers have been requested to extend cooperation to the installation personnel during the execution of this ongoing work.

Further, the general public have been advised not to spread or circulate misleading information regarding smart meters as spreading unverified or false information may create unnecessary confusion and fear among the public.
