The two-day International Conference on Environmental Humanities in the Anthropocene Era, focusing on Ecojustice and Sustainability (ICAHAE), wrapped up its proceedings at Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung. The event, jointly organized by the Department of English and Department of Geography, took place on 4th and 5th October 2023.
The valedictory session was held at the Conference Hall, FAC, and was supported by the Association for the Study of Literature and Environment (ASLE) and LEMSACHENLOK, Longleng. The conference was generously sponsored by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung
During the concluding remarks, Dr E Benrithung Patton, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science, Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung, emphasized the significance of the conference themes and the need for individual and collective efforts to address global anthropocene challenges. Dr Patton stressed the importance of moving towards sustainable living, community engagement, and the pursuit of ideas that can lead to new avenues of inquiry.

Dr Pankaj Thapa, a Freelance Academician and Researcher from Kanglung, Bhutan, lauded the professionalism in the organization of the conference. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that conferences go beyond academic routines and continue to promote research and the dissemination of findings at grassroots levels.
Dr Y Nuklu Phom, Team Leader at LEMSACHENLOK, Longleng, offered insights into the way forward. He encouraged the institute to foster relevant practical scholarship and integrate traditional learning values into the educational system. Dr Phom also suggested the establishment of sustainable and advanced research study centres to generate income and benefit the community.
