Kiphire: World Cup 2022 fever kicks in

Kiphire: On Sunday, more than 40 football fans squeezed in at the Nine Resort, about 3km away from the district headquarters, to witness the first match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup

With the FIFA World Cup 2022 kicking off on Sunday night in Qatar, diehard football fans from Kiphire district have gathered together to witness one of the most well-known and highly anticipated football events.

On Sunday, more than 40 football fans squeezed in at the Nine Resort, about 3km away from the district headquarters, to witness the first match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup on a large+ screen projector.

Nine Resort, a space for both young and old, provides services such as fast food, swimming pools and a beautiful view of Mount Saramati from ground zero.

The owner of the resort, Apongchum, told Nagaland Tribune, “I believe everyone is excited to see the world Cup and how sweet if we have football lovers together on one screen. It gives us more energy and atmosphere to be alive on screen.”

With a reasonable charging fee for the big screen, many young and old fans turned up positively at the resort to witness the World Cup 2022 match.

Beside Nine Resort, some other places around Kiphire town such as the indoor stadium in Government Hr Sec School Kiphire also witnessed football lovers gathered to watch the first match of the World Cup.

The big screening of the World Cup will continue throughout the World Cup season until the finals.
