Labour Commissioner Nagaland has informed that eight Trade Unions registered under Section 8 of the Trade Union Act, 1926 have been found to be defaulting/non-functional and hence are liable for deregistration by the Registrar of Trade Union.
The Trade Unions are Dimapur Motor Workers Trade Union, Dimapur; Dimapur Auto Rickshaw Owners Union; Dimapur Land Transport Workers Union; East Dimapur Purana Bazaar Labour Trade Union; Dimapur Taxi Drivers Union; Dimapur Cycle Rickshaw Pullers Union; Dimapur Truck Drivers Union; and Kohima District Land Transport Trade Union, Phesama.

The Department has informed the defaulting Trade Unions as to why the Registrar of Trade Union should not initiate deregistration process under Section 10 of Trade Unions Act, 1926. Any Trade Unions that intend to resume its activities and avoid cancellation must submit a formal intimation to the Registrar of Trade Union within 30 (thirty) days from the issue of this notification, it said.
Failure to respond within the stipulated period shall result in the initiation of necessary proceedings for cancellation of registration as per relevant provisions of the Trade Unions Acts and Rules, it added.
