Minister Along says case in Bombay High Court related to ‘very old issue’, urges people not to draw conclusions

Kohima: ‘My friends’ HML have gone to Court to mitigate disputes, Along says

Giving a clarification on the case against him at the High Court of Bombay, Temjen Imna Along, Minister of Tourism and Higher Education, Government of Nagaland, has said today that the case pertains to a very old issue that occurred before he held any government office or was an elected member.

Earlier today, a news report informing that the Economic Offences Wing of the Mumbai Police has begun preliminary Enquiry against the Nagaland Minister over an approximately ₹ 125 crore investment.

Speaking to the media persons in his chamber at the Nagaland Secretariat, Along said that the case is related to some business deals he and “his friends”, Hazel Mercantile Limited” got into in 2014-15. Overtime, some disputes arose due to which HML has gone to the Court to mitigate the disputes, he said, adding that in business, disputes and delays are common affairs.

The Minister also said that it is now the subject matter of the Court which he has accepted and has apprised his “leaders” about. Further, he urged people not to draw conclusions and assured that “these problems will be solved according to the appeal that had been made in the court.”
