A fire broke out in a car repair shop located on the highway of Chuchuyimpang village road, Mokokchung around 6:20pm on Saturday evening.
It was reported that a man first raised the alarm on the fire and people nearby stepped in to help dose off the fire.
Some people, on their way home after attending the Saturday evening church service, witnessed the fire ravage the whole workshop.
A witness, who was at the spot, reported that four cars belonging to the owner of the workshop and to customers for repair was burnt down.
Another witness informed that the workshop had two spaces – one open space for repair work and the other for colouring the cars. Soon after the fire broke out, the entire shop was up in flames.

The fire was so severe that by the time people arrived to help, it had taken on a formidable form. Seeing this, people informed the fire department who pressed into service within twenty minutes of receiving the information.
The firemen brought the fire under control after three loads of water. However, all the goods inside the workshop were burnt down to ashes.
While the fire caused great damage, no one was present inside the shop fortunately and there was no loss of life.
It is not yet clear what caused the fire.
