Mon: Black Day observed in remembrance of the Oting massacre victims

Mon: Black Day was observed on Monday at the Konyak Union (KU) Office

In remembrance of the 14 innocent civilians who were killed in Oting village on 4 and 5 December 2021, Black Day was observed today at the Konyak Union (KU) Office.

The programme commenced with an invocation prayer by Rev M Nahngom, pastor of KBCM.

The chairperson was Chingwang, vice president of KU.

Speeches in lamentation and remembrance of the 14 departed souls were delivered by the president of KU, the president of KSU and finally, the president of KNSK.

On 4 December 2021, 13 civilians, returning home after work, were ambushed and gunned down by the 21 Para Commandos. The following day, one youth was gunned down at the Assam Rifle Mon Hq. The Assam Rifles had opened fire to the youth crowded there, bringing a mournful and unforgettable event in Mon district.

At the end of the Black Day programme, Rev M Chemyuh, ES KBBB, prayed for the beavered family and the departed souls.
