The Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) and 9th Kohima Town Assembly Constituency Congress Committee (ACCC) under the aegis of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) today undertook Bharat Jodo Yatra (BJY) in Kohima.
BJY is a movement of the Indian National Congress (INC) led by Rahul Gandhi to unite India and to raise questions on the economy, social polarisation, political centralisation and anyone aspiring for peace and harmony.
Addressing the party workers, Khriedi Theünuo, Working President of the NPCC said that the rally has been initiated to highlight and save the people from divisive ideology currently existing in the country.

He highlighted on the mismanagement of the projects and lack of respect to the rules of the state, lamenting that the rich are becoming richer, and poor are becoming poorer in the state.
Theünuo also spoke against the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
He said, “Nagas have to be very careful because if the UCC is enforced our (Nagas) rights will be taken away”.
“UCC is for one nation, one people. Under it we all have to be Hindus and remain under one law. It will take away the special protection of customary laws and religious rights,” he claimed.
On CAA, he said when implemented it will give “full protection” to illegal Bangladeshi immigrants settled in Nagaland and the Nagas themselves will have no right to raise their voice against them.
Asserting that the Congress will fight for secularism and justice “at all cost”, Theünuo said under the Congress regime every person had enjoyed equality and justice.
Everyone must come together and not just talk at the backseat, he said.
As #BharatJodoYatra comes to #Kohima, we are energised to see the support towards the cause of unity.
